The importance of albums

We live in the age of mobile phones and fast-paced technology, quick photos and never endingly full hard drives. How often have you flicked through your digital photo archives and said, “Oh I should really get that photo printed”?

When you book in for a photo session, what you then decide to do with your images is possibly the most important part of the photo session! All of your time and money invested deserve more than just images collecting dust on your hard drive. You’ll never get the same feeling looking at your images on a screen, as you do looking at them on display in your home, for you and your family to enjoy.

The 3 main reasons you need a family album:

Digital files are great, but…

Digital files are great for sharing, computer access and editing, but they can so easily get lost or forgotten, as well as backups failing and losing them all. They may not always be easily accessible, so future generations may not be able to look at and remember. And what about today? I know my boys love going through old photos of themselves, especially as babies. Besides for my Amazon Alexa going through a small roll of photos I’ve uploaded to Amazon, they just don’t get to see these images. Albums make those photos you invested in easily accessible to your children.

Photo albums can easily be passed on to future generations

What is your plan for passing down all of your digital photos to your kids? If you’re like me…. I don’t have a plan! Online storage? External hard drives that may crash or use technology not supported in 10 or 20 years? Or maybe I’ll just hand over my laptop. haha The point is, whatever the method is, it will be VERY hard to do and not only that, your kids probably won’t fire up the old hard drive to go through photos. Albums solve this problem! I can just picture future grandchildren sitting down and flipping through the pages. Albums become your family heirlooms, beautiful books they can hold in their hands and enjoyed by many generations to come. It brings your family together to go through these precious memories.

Photo albums make great gifts

If you’ve ever been stuck on gift ideas for family members, surprising them with an album of their favorite grandchildren can be such a beautiful idea. The 8×8 size album is perfect for a gift.

You can check out the product shop here. If you’re like me and like to see and feel things like album covers and paper types in person, I have samples of all the physical products I offer at my studio, that you can check out during your shoot.

Meet Megan

NJ Newborn & Family photographer

I know how important it is to us parents to capture our children just as they are today. No frills or over-the-top props. I specialize in maternity, newborn and family photography with a natural and organic style to achieve just that. I love all things vintage so you will often see me using old crates, quilts, and lace during your session. Time goes by so fast and the little details of babies and children disappear too quickly. I would love the opportunity to capture your memories.
