Family Session Information
As a mom of two elementary-school aged boys, I know how quickly childhood passes us by. How fast your little one turns from baby to toddler to big kid to teenager. Photography is the best way to preserve these memories for generations to come.
As a full service photo studio, I provide wardrobe for the entire family… dresses for mom, outfits for babies and children and henley shirts for the dads. Shopping for the right outfits is not only stressful, but expensive. This way, you can show up to your shoot in sweats if you wanted to! You can try on everything while you are here. All props are provided for all sessions so you do not need to shop on Etsy for anything!
Pure. Timeless. Natural. My style is not bold colors or fancy poses. You’ll see that a lot of my photos are done on white or other neutral colors. This way your photos showcase the beauty of your baby and family, and not over-the-top props or colors.

Maternity
In studio or outdoors, maternity sessions are scheduled between 32-36 weeks. The whole family, including the fur babies, can be included. Pregnancy may feel tough at times but you quickly forget what it feels like to have a baby bump! Let’s make sure to document this beautiful time for your family.
Newborn
When you book a newborn session, your due date goes on the calendar and once the baby is born, you let me know and we schedule the session within two weeks of your delivery date. Newborn sessions take place in my in-home studio suite in Bridgewater NJ on a weekday morning at 10am. Sessions range from 1-3 hours depending on the needs of your baby. Before your session, you will have the opportunity to fill out a questionnaire where you can customize your session by choosing colors, set ups and poses! All props and outfits are included so you just need to bring baby and milk.
Baby Milestones
Baby’s first year goes by so so fast and they change so much in those first 12 months. I recommend capturing three sessions in baby’s first year: tummy time, sitter and the one year. Sessions last approximately 1 hour and take place in my in-home studio on a gorgeous and timeless white backdrop, as well as additional sets for the babies/kids. Baby portraits can include outfit choices from the dozens of outfit options available in the studio. Family and sibling photos can always be included.
Cake Smash
A cake smash the perfect way to celebrate baby turning 1! These are custom 1-2 hour sessions and include portraits before the cake smash using the studio closet of boutique outfits, family/sibling photos, cake smash photos, and a bubble bath at the end!
All of my cake smashes are done on a white timeless backdrop with either balloons or a banner, and a cake and a cake stand, all provided by me. Older siblings are welcome to join in on the fun after baby is done smashing! I love to get the older brother or sister(s) involved because it makes for such CUTE photos! After cake, using baby sensitive skin bubbles, we do an all white bubbly bath after the cake smash is over.
Family (Studio)
The studio provides a gorgeous timeless white set and a controlled environment for the small kiddos.
Family sessions spend more time on family shots whereas milestone sessions spend more time getting those baby-only photos. I have 12+ years of experience working with families and can guide you on how to pose, where to stand, and how to interact with each other to get the best photos.
Family (Outdoor Minis)
Please note I no longer offer full outdoor sessions. The only outdoor sessions I do are fall and holiday mini sessions. Please sign up for my newsletter linked below to find out when they open for bookings.

Wardrobe Styling
the studio closet
Shopping for the right outfits is not only stressful, but expensive. As your photographer, I alleviate that stress by including access to the studio closet for all of my sessions. The closet has something for everyone… countless dresses for momma, henley shirts for dad, boutique outfits for babies, and even a limited selection of clothes for older kids. This way, you can show up to your shoot in sweats if you wanted to! You can try on everything while you are here.
The Studio
in Bridgewater nj
The Megan Curren Photography studio is located in a separate area of her Bridgewater NJ home and has its own dedicated entrance and restroom, and provides a comfortable cozy and safe environment for sessions. It is a family friendly studio with toys for all ages, diapers, wipes and lollipops if needed for the older sibling! All props that you see in my portfolio are available for use during your studio session.
Session Styling
All sessions are custom designed to your preferences via a questionnaire and an extensive studio closet of all newborn and baby accessories including blankets, wraps, headbands, bonnets, outfits and props so you do not need to bring anything.
Prepping your family
An extensive prep guide to help get your family ready for the shoot is sent in advance of all shoots! Sibling (even canine siblings), parent, and family photos can be included in all sessions.
Hair & Makeup Artist
It’s hard to get yourself ready with a family to care for. My go-to hair and makeup artist can meet you at the studio or at your home!
