This past weekend, on a gorgeous Spring day, I had the honor of photographing the Central Park proposal of Mike & Megan! I was so excited – this definitely had to be one of my most fun photography sessions ever! The days leading up to the date were spent scouting out the area online and working with the soon-to-be groom pinpointing exact times and wardrobe plans so that I could easily spot them.
Mike chose Bethesda Fountain as the location to pop the question, one of Megan’s most favorite places. Waiting for them to arrive, I was getting a little nervous because there were thousands of people in the Park that day! At some points, mobs of people were coming through the exact arches they were supposed to walk through.
But it all worked out. By the time they approached, the crowds had thinned slightly and my assistants (Mom and sister) were hidden and we were all ready with our cameras.
What a sweet moment! She was so surprised. And Mike did an amazing job, both with the proposal and the ring! They definitely drew attention from the crowd. It was a perfect spot to propose! After the proposal, we were able to fit in a mini engagement session and got some photos around that area of Central Park. Not too long though – I did not want to keep them from starting their celebration with friends and family!!
Congratulations to Mike & Megan!!
Here they come!
Mike saw a clearing in the crowds and knew this was his chance to get down on one knee. SO SWEET! :)
